It is a great pleasure and an honour for CONFITARMA, the Italian Shipowners Association, to welcome the First Annual Lloyd's List Italian Shipping Awards and I take pleasure in announcing Confitarma's endorsement of this important event.
Italian shipowners are facing the new century with a firm confidence in the development of the shipping industry, and I can be very proud in saying that these prestigious Awards represent the recognition of the standards of excellence in the Italian maritime transport industries.
The First Italian Shipping Awards will draw on the prestige of the Lloyd’s List name as well as the expertise of the wider Informa Group, which is the world’s largest organizer of business conferences, and I really hope that it will become an important annual event for the Italian market.
Confitarma warmly welcomes these Awards and encourages all Italian shipping companies and other organisations of the maritime cluster to give the event their full support.
