Oil company’s fate rests in the hands of US Supreme Court

EXXONMOBIL has shot its last bolt in the long-running Exxon Valdez case.

The company’s fate now is in the hands of the US Supreme Court, which yesterday heard oral arguments in the oil major’s appeal seeking to cut or eliminate the $2.5bn awarded against it in punitive damages.
