Inmarsat and Iridium both outperform flat market

THE maritime industry’s two leading satellite communications providers, Inmarsat and Iridium, have reported continued strength despite a generally flat market, writes Craig Eason.

London-listed Inmarsat reported a 4.9% year-on-year increase in revenues for the first six months of 2009, to $508.7m. This represents a pre-tax profit of $97m.
