More Chinese ports join the 1m teu club
Quanzhou and Nanjing in top 16 by volume

CHINA now boasts 16 container ports that each handle more than 1m teu a year, with Shanghai fast catching up on the world’s largest port, Singapore.
Despite the first signs of economic slowdown last year, volumes moving through the top 100 ports grew by 45m teu, or nearly 13%, to 494m teu, according to an analysis by Cargo Systems.
