Ferry’s owner was involved in similar tragedies in the past

AS HOPES fade of finding more survivors from the capsized ferry Princess of the Stars, Filipino lawmakers have turned their attention to an inquiry into the cause of the disaster.

The Philippines have a history of maritime disasters and despite numerous investigations, recommendations and new regulations drawn up, the accidents continue to occur.
