Hanjin sinks into the red with $191m loss

HANJIN Shipping, South Korea’s largest shipping company, sank into the red with a loss $191m in the first quarter, as the global recession bit deeper.

Hanjin said it was seeking to defer deliveries of newbuildings on its 31-ship orderbook in an attempt to mitigate the effects of global recessionary pressures on the company.
