Privatisation beckons for the Royal Fleet Auxiliary
HARD times, it has been said, lead to hard choices. The government has let it be known that, in its search for crumbs in a cupboard that is bare, it will be necessary to sell off some of the family silver. This is, of course, a curious contrast to the furious acquisition of such treasures as large financial institutions, and the need to maintain them with vast sums of the taxpayer’s hard-earned money.
