Iranian-linked tanker reflags to Europe’s San Marino registry

San Marino is the latest small, privately managed flag registry pinpointed for use by the anonymous owners of elderly tankers engaged in sanctioned Venezuelan and Russian trades

The registry, which flags seven bulk carriers, four tankers, and three liquefied petroleum gas carriers, says that it applied relevant due diligence for all vessels entering its fleet and has refused registration to 19 vessels this year because they were listed by the US Treasury
