An unidentified vessel was reportedly targeted on Tuesday but was not hit
A vessel reported being attacked in the Red Sea for the first time since late October amid reports that the US carried out strikes against the militants on Saturday and Sunday. The vessel was not hit and the crew were reported safe
AN unidentified vessel reported multiple explosions in the early hours of Tuesday in the Red Sea.
The crew and the vessel were reported safe in the attack, the UK Maritime Trade Operations said on social media platform X.
The incident, which was the first reported attack since October 28, occurred at around 0300 hrs local time about 70 nautical miles southwest of Hodeidah.
The attack came amid reports of US strikes against Houthi targets, with CNN citing a US defence official saying Washington carried out strikes against the militants on Saturday and Sunday.
Houthi spokesperson Yahya Sa’ree said on Tuesday that the militants targeted a US aircraft carrier and two destroyers with cruise missiles, ballistic missiles and drones.
“The American enemy was preparing to carry out hostile operations targeting our country,” according to a Houthi statement posted on X.
