FMC investigating Spanish government over alleged banning of US-flagged vessels
Spanish government reportedly told local media in November that it banned two Maersk ships because they were suspected of carrying US arms to Israel
The FMC is investigating whether Spain’s refusal to let ‘certain vessels, including US-flagged vessels’, call at its ports resulted in ‘conditions unfavourable to shipping in the foreign trade of the United States’. It warned that it can ‘levy significant remedies’ if it finds that to be the case
