Largest Israeli attacks on the Iran-backed faction also injured 21, according to preliminary figures reported by Houthi-affiliated media
Israel launched another round of strikes against the Houthis on Thursday, targeting ports, power plants and the airport in Sana’a, in what has been described as the largest attack against the militants to date
ISRAELI fighter jets struck targets in Houthi-controlled parts of Yemen on Thursday in what has been described as Israel’s heaviest attack against the Yemeni faction so far, which was also its second within a week.
According to the Houthi-affiliated Yemen News Agency, a preliminary toll by the Ministry of Health and Environment confirmed four people were killed and 21 injured in the latest attack.
The Israel Defense Forces said the targets it struck “include military infrastructure used by the Houthi terrorist regime for its military activities in both the Sana’a International airport and the Hezyaz and Ras Kanatib power stations”.
“In addition, the IDF struck military infrastructure in the Al-Hudaydah, Salif and Ras Kanatib ports on the western coast.
“These military targets were used by the Houthi terrorist regime to smuggle Iranian weapons into the region and for the entry of senior Iranian officials,” the IDF said in a statement on social media platform X.
The attack marked the fourth Israeli air raid against the Houthis since IDF fighter jets first struck the militants over the summer. It comes amid escalating fighting between Israel the Houthis, who have ramped up their attacks on Israel in recent weeks.
There were seven commercial vessels berthed at Salif and Hodeidah at the time of the attacks, according to Lloyd’s List Intelligence vessel-tracking data. All were still at berth in its aftermath.
