CO-FOUNDER of tanker owner Hafnia Erik Bartnes will step down from his role as non-executive director after 14 years at the company.
Bartnes will vacate his role formally after Hafnia’s AGM on May 14.
Hafnia chairman Andreas Sohmen-Pao thanked Bartnes for “his involvement from the establishment until today as a co-founder, investor and executive chairman until the merger with BW Pacific in 2019”.
“He has been a key part of the journey of creating one of the world’s leading product tanker companies listed in New York and Oslo.”
Hafnia said the nomination committee will put forward a candidate to replace Bartnes at the AGM.
At the same time, the company announced it had handed out share options to senior leadership, including chief executive Mikael Skov, who will have the option to purchase more than 770,000 shares in the Singapore-based company.
Chief financial officer Perry van Echtelt received 193,475 share options.
