Trump threat already priced in at IMO GHG talks

  • Talks in London on mid-term measures continuing with outcome still up in the air
  • Saudi Arabia pushing hard against ambition; China more constructive but holding firm against levy-like measures, sources said

The belated US threat to slap ‘reciprocal measures’ on countries working toward a global carbon price at IMO is not expected to change the course of talks much for now. But those pushing for an ambitious carbon price have a tough enough job already
