Hellenic Hull opts for Concirrus ESG module
- Greece- and Cyprus-based insurance manager aims to embed ESG principles across its activities
- Data-driven technology is setting new standards for ‘responsible marine insurance,’ say partners
Powered by OceanMind intelligence, the platform enhances the ability to measure insured fleet against emissions regulations
HELLENIC Hull Management has said it is working with Concirrus to enhance the sustainability of its shipping portfolios, using the London-based insurtech firm’s data-driven tools.
Adopting the firm’s advanced ESG module “enables Hellenic Hull to measure the alignment of its insured portfolio with international emissions regulations and to support shipowners through this transition,” it said.
The Greece- and Cyprus-based insurance manager is understood to have worked successfully with the platform for a pilot period.
It has also been using the Concirrus platform for activities such as insured vessels monitoring, sanctions checking and insured portfolio management.
Hellenic Hull has had a partnership with the American P&I Club since 2016 and with New York-listed underwriting group SiriusPoint since last July.
The company was among the founding members of the Poseidon Principles for Marine Insurance.
“Hellenic Hull is dedicated to embedding ESG principles across its operations,” said chief executive Ilias Tsakiris.
Concirrus’ ESG module offered “valuable insights that help shipowners monitor their carbon footprint”.
The technology integrates AI-driven analytics with emissions data for the fleet from OceanMind.
The collaboration with OceanMind, beginning with enhanced emissions tracking to support insurers and P&I clubs in meeting global decarbonisation targets, was unveiled earlier this year.
The partnership with Hellenic Hull marked “a significant milestone”, the two companies said in a joint statement.
“By embedding ESG-focused analytics into underwriting processes, Concirrus empowers insurers like Hellenic Hull to set new standards for responsible marine insurance,” it said.
“Our partnership with Hellenic Hull underscores the growing industry commitment to sustainable underwriting,” said Concirrus product director James Whitlam.
