Rokstone hires senior QBE duo for Singapore marine expansion

Appointments follow the launch of Rokstone’s Singapore hub in June, led by former head of marine (Asia) at QBE International, Rama Chandran

Managing general agent appoints Sharon Seah and Hui Ling Long as directors in its new Singapore hub

INTERNATIONAL specialty re/insurance managing general agent Rokstone has continued to build out of its Asia-Pacific marine operation in Singapore with the appointment of two senior underwriters from QBE.

Sharon Seah and Hui Ling Long have joined Rokstone as directors and senior underwriters in the Singapore marine team.

Seah was previously country lead for marine cargo and terminal operator liability at QBE Insurance Singapore, while Long was country lead for marine hull and liabilities.

The appointments follow the launch of Rokstone’s Singapore hub, led by former head of marine (Asia) at QBE International, Rama Chandran.

Rokstone Singapore is supported by a multi-year, $25m Lloyd’s capacity agreement with Tokio Marine Kiln, covering marine classes including construction (builders’ risk), cargo, hull and liabilities.

James Potter, chairman at Rokstone, said: “Combined with Lloyd’s lead capacity, advanced technology and portfolio analytics and a high-performance culture, our [Asia-Pacific] proposition is second to none.

“[The partnership with TMK] will broaden opportunities across multiple disciplines while delivering exceptional security, value and service to clients in the wholesale marine specialty sector.”
