Nick Taylor joins London-based re/insurance broker to oversee direct P&I business
LONDON-BASED re/insurance broker Miller has appointed Nick Taylor as head of direct protection and indemnity.
Taylor most recently served as head of coastal and island at NorthStandard, where he was responsible for the club’s small ship P&I business.
Before the merger with North, he held several senior roles at Standard Club, leading the incorporation of an Irish insurer following Brexit and the separation of the club’s management from Charles Taylor.
Taylor also spent seven years in Singapore, where he led the Standard Club’s Asia-Pacific underwriting function. He has extensive P&I experience in Europe, the Americas and the Middle East.
Nick Summers, head of direct marine at Miller, said Taylor’s ‘extensive experience across multiple markets, deep expertise in P&I and proven leadership make him the ideal candidate to lead and develop our direct P&I broking team’.
