Yang Ming confirms plans to boost boxship newbuild orderbook
- World’s 10th-largest container line plans to order six neo-panamax boxships as part of its fleet renewal and expansion strategy
- The new 13,000 teu ships will replace older vessels in the 4,250 teu to 6,500 teu range
- Order will follow newbuilding contracts signed in 2025 for 13 containerships of 8,000 teu and 15,000 teu
While the company has not revealed which shipyards will bid for the contract, it traditionally works with builders in Japan, South Korea and Taiwan
