Omani ships transiting Strait of Hormuz eastbound, avoiding ‘Tehran-approved’ corridor
- Three ships, two VLCCs and a LNG carrier, are attempting to exit the Middle East Gulf
- All vessels signalling they are Omani ships via AIS data
- Vessels sailing unusually close to Omani coast
- Another tanker sailing for Oman, shipping Iraq’s first post-conflict oil export, exited the gulf during a dark transit several days ago
If successful, these will be the first ships tracked not taking the Iranian corridor through the chokepoint in nearly three weeks, and it would also mark the first LNG transit since the war started
