Sinokor’s tally of secondhand VLCC buys exceeds 60 ships as sellers relinquish more vessels
- Sinokor has rapidly built a huge fleet of secondhand VLCCs, purchasing 64 vessels since late 2025, with 49 already delivered
- Expansion began in December 2025 and has been backed by the Aponte family’s MSC Group, which is taking a 50% stake in Sinokor
- Most of the purchases have been executed through MSC-linked entities
Greek shipowners have been the largest sellers and are attributed to 40% of the deals, including 13 vessels sold by George Prokopiou’s Dynacom
