Two India-bound LPG carriers exit Hormuz as BRICS gathers in New Delhi
- LPG carriers Symi and NV Sunshine were confirmed to have crossed the Strait of Hormuz on May 13 and are bound for Kandla and New Mangalore respectively
- NV Sunshine kept its AIS transmission on until after it passed Larak Island while Symi went dark before crossing the strait and reappeared in the Gulf of Oman
- Supplies of LPG and other fuels have been constrained in India, with New Delhi urging citizens to conserve energy consumption and avoid panic buying
Crossings come as BRICS foreign ministers gather in New Delhi, with Iran calling on members to condemn US’ and Israel’s actions while calling out the UAE’s participation in the conflict
