IMO halts Hormuz evacuation after attack on Evergreen boxship

  • Evacuation plans have been ‘temporarily paused’ following the attack as the IMO looks to re-establish required safety guarantees for vessels to transit
  • The IMO said that the Singapore-flagged Ever Lovely was not transiting in coordination with the IMO when it was struck 
  • But Evergreen stated that it was using the route recommended by the UKMTO
