Bulker newbuilding orders surge as Greek and Chinese shipowners drive fleet renewal
- Orders for new dry cargo carriers have boomed this year, signalling strong owner confidence in the sector despite ongoing uncertainty over fuel technology, shipyard costs and future trade demand
- A total of 285 bulk carriers newbuildings have been ordered in 1H26, up sharply from 172 in the same period of 2025
