Bulk carrier values strengthen on rising buying interest amid robust freight market

  • Bulk carrier asset values have strengthened sharply in 2026 as stronger buying interest drives increased sale and purchase activity
  • Values of 10-year-old capesizes are now around $56m, up 23% from a year earlier, while kamsarmax and ultramax values have risen 25% and 33% respectively

According to Xclusiv Shipbrokers, the dry bulk sale and purchase market saw 496 transactions between January and July, up from 428 during the same period in 2025
