LNG-fuelled Cosco vehicle carrier now under tow as fire appears contained
- The 7,500 ceu PCTC Min Jiang Kou is now under tow with no active fire on board, while the cause of fire us still under investigation, shipmanager said
- Meyer Group-owned tug Lupo appears to have been deployed to move the vessel to a Panamanian port
- The 2024-built ship was the first LNG dual-fuel PCTC to join Cosco’s fleet
The blaze was contained using the vessel’s carbon dioxide system, with no active fire, pollution or stability concerns now reported, although the cause remains under investigation
