Callimanopulos fleet goes up for sale in Chapter 11 endgame
Shipbroker Clarksons has been given the job of selling off the tanker and bulker fleet of the diversified shipping empire formerly controlled by Gregory Callimanopulos. The sell-off of the 20 vessels and six newbuildings has been approved by a US bankruptcy court judge after a deal earlier this year saw the legendary Greek owner walk away from the business, which had spent a year under Chapter 11 protection
Predominantly Chinese-built fleet seems most likely to be carved up among various buyers
