Our coveted number one slot is in acknowledgment of the International Maritime Organization’s leap from laggard to leader in 2023, with a small group of key power brokers within the UN body collectively holding the key to what happens next on shipping’s decarbonisation trajectory — and, with it, the future of the industry.
However, the rest of the sector and its cast of characters are having to adjust their previous expectations regarding the pace of change. The gap between the industry’s rhetoric and reality when it comes to decarbonisation could finally be starting to close.
