Three-train PNG LNG expansion is expected to get green light
The proposed expansion plan will double the PNG LNG project’s capacity to 16m tonnes per annum and is expected to deliver its first liquefied natural gas cargo in 2024. The signing of agreements with the Papua New Guinea government will pave the way for the project to move on to begin front-end engineering and design work
Two agreements with a Total-led joint venture and an ExxonMobil-led joint venture are to be finalised in stages from as early as the end of March to move the planned three-train, 8m tonnes per annum expansion of PNG LNG to the engineering phase
