Canada’s west coast container ports see imports up, exports down
The two Canadian gateways saw imports totalling 229,185 teu in July 2019, up 6.8% from their collective July 2018 total of 214,590 teu. By comparison, the four major US west coast ports saw imports rise just 0.24% to 1,003,332 teu in the same period
At Prince Rupert, the port’s July 2019 containerised imports hit 66,277 teu, a whopping increase of 29.72% over the 51,091 teu recorded at the port in July 2018
