Carlyle Group quits US joint oil export project

Carlyle said in a statement that Berry Group is now the sole owner of Lone Star Ports LLC, but gave no explanation for leaving the project, which it said continues to be actively developed. Last October, Carlyle agreed to arrange for private funding to dredge the main channel to 75 ft to enable fully-laden VLCCs to reach the proposed terminal

Despite the departure of Carlyle, port chief executive Sean Strawbridge said interest in the Corpus Christi project remains high and that dredging will continue in the area to make it more attractive for the export of crude
