MISC warns tanker good times may not last into second half of 2020
Prospects for the rest of the year were uncertain as they would depend on the duration and magnitude of the coronavirus pandemic’s impact on oil demand, MISC said. The oil tanker segment has done well for the group however, with sector operating profit more than doubling in the first quarter of the year
MISC also pointed to a weak global economy and low liquefied natural gas prices as a factor in possible delays to planned LNG projects, which could in turn lead to slower fleet growth
