Seafarers want training on digitalisation and new fuels, study finds

Decarbonisation and digitalisation are seen as having the most profound impact on shipmanagement and seafarers leading up to 2030

Training to handle the new technologies related to decarbonisation and digitalisation ranked highest among the concerns of the seafarers surveyed. Eight in 10 asked for training to work with advanced technology on board ships and almost 90% expressed the need for training required to handle emerging fuels like ammonia, hydrogen and methanol
