US ports call for more multimodal funding

American Association of Port Authorities submits testimony to Senate committee stating that the $11bn earmarked for freight funding under the FAST Act should be made 'multimodal eligible'. The association, representing more than 130 ports across the Americas, says the current figure of $1.1bn is “far below what is needed to build out a 21st century multimodal freight network”.

Earlier this year, the AAPA identified more than $20bn in multimodal needs for public port authorities alone over the next decade
