MOL sends team to assist Mauritius oil spill clear up
Some 1,000 tonnes have already spilled and fears are mounting of a catastrophe if the ship breaks up. Greenpeace has warned of an ecological disaster after satellite images showed a thick oil slick forming around the area off the east coast where the capesize bulker has been stranded since July 25
MOL says it is ‘fully aware of the incident and the regretful harm to the beautiful nature in Mauritius’, and a six-member team is set to leave Japan on August 11 to collect information and mitigate effects of the accident
