New LNG supply deals to boost shipping demand
At least two deals signed for 3.4m tonnes per year of LNG from Texas and Qatar, following agreements last week totalling 9m tonnes per year
US-based Sempra has agreed a long-term deal to provide liquefied natural gas to the UK company Ineos, sourced from the Port Arthur phase one liquefaction project in Texas. Elsewhere, American energy company ConocoPhillips has also agreed a long-term supply agreement to provide QatarEnergy with LNG to be delivered to Germany
