Big names slam BIMCO’s CII clause as ‘unusable’
A group of 23 companies sent an open letter to BIMCO saying the CII clause disproportionately affects charterers and is therefore ‘imbalanced and unusable’
Major companies such as MSC, CMA CGM, AP Moller-Maersk, Oldendorff, and Trafigura say that the clause, as adopted, will likely lead to a wide variety of ‘home grown’ CII clauses or — to owners’ detriment — no clause being agreed. BIMCO responded by saying it is soliciting feedback
