Along with two criminal indictments against a sanction-busting network funding the IRGC, the US has unsealed documents showing it seized a cargo of Iranian fuel oil originally loaded by Vietnamese tanker Abyss. A Euronav storage tanker took on the oil in March, unaware of its origins. The newly disclosed seizure preceded two attempted hijackings of US-affiliated tankers in the Strait of Hormuz by Iran’s Navy in July
